My artwork is inspired by civil engineering works as you can see in this pillar sculpture. For the exhibiton “Uncollectibles, under the skin” I moved this nextdoor pillar into the “Kunstenlab”.
Pillar inside
Looking at the streetmap, you see a bridge with a road and you see the “Kunstenlab” where this exhibiton is located. When you carry on repeating the pillars supporting this road, you end up inside the Kunstenlab.
Inspired civil engineering works
I look at peaces of civil engineering work as if they are alive, with a character and a personality. For this exhibition I built a pillar with peaces left out, it shows the construction under the skin. The 3D object is also in a dialogue with a reflection of itself in a monumental charccoal drawing.
